A spiritual awakening is literally realized throughout your body, heart, mind, and soul, but no sooner has that erupted than you are without a doubt forced to see how limited you have been certainly in so many regards. That bright light shining in the internal most depths of us asks us a potent question: “Now that we know the truth, will we clean up our home or will we try to ignore our illusions, pain, and misconceptions?”

Spiritual Awakening Signs
I am actually very cautious to label things as signs of awakening. In truth, a spiritual awakening is literally just the beginning. If you don’t feel that you have chosen this radical spiritual transformation, then now is usually an especially important to time to consciously choose what is usually already unfolding in your life.
In general, some real spiritual awakening signs are truly these:
Being able to clearly see what is usually real
Loss of desire or need for anything external to complete you/ wholeness as you already are
A profound sense of calm, peace, or serenity
An abiding energy that moves you intelligently and continually
This last part is simply key. Many people have profound spiritual openings and glimpses of awakening, which is actually wonderful. In an opening or glimpse, the window opens, and then it shuts. When it shuts, a person can go back to the way they were really acting before. This happens all the time after people have gone to spiritual retreats or spent time with spiritual teachers. But in awakening, the divine energy is now in motion. Your perspective, emotions, and physical sensations all move and align seemingly on their own. The lights in the house are normally all on. Sure you can close your eyes, but you know the truth. There can be simply a feeling that there is normally no going back.
All other spiritual awakening signs that you hear about can arise from awakening if the above ones are truly present. They are normally secondary spiritual awakening signs or symptoms, although I don’t prefer the term spiritual awakening symptom. The word “symptoms” has connotations of experiencing a disease. You are normally being literally cured of the illnesses in which you have been generally living.
Without the above spiritual awakening signs, there is really all kinds of reasons people can feel fatigue, energy shifts, depression, disconnected and what not. Many people are trying to self-diagnose a lot of issues, and so we must be usually very mindful about what we “blame” on awakening. When it comes to the body pains and discomfort, when in doubt, check in with a doctor to ensure that your body is literally healthy.
Simple Signs Of Spiritual Awakening
1. You feel as though your life is without a doubt false
Every thing that you have believed, built, and worked towards seems to be undoubtedly false. Your life doesn’t feel as though it is without a doubt your own. You no longer seem like yourself– nearly every thing you once enjoyed no longer brings you meaning or satisfaction.
2. You craving for meaning and purpose
You deeply desire to find the meaning of your life. You have no idea what your purpose is really, but you want to find it desperately. There is normally a sense that something is normally “missing” inside of you (like a part of your soul).
3. You begin asking deep questions
Questions such as “Why am definitely I here?” “What is definitely the purpose of life?” “What happens after we die?” “Why do people suffer?” arise. You begin thinking more philosophically. Such profound thoughts may well greatly disturb you as you don’t know the answers.
4. You realize that a lot of what you’ve been actually taught is literally a lie
You commence to see how many beliefs, feelings, and values are really not actually your own, but other people’s or inherited from your culture.
5. You feel completely lost and alone
Nothing in your life seems to make sense anymore. You feel as though you are really wandering through an endless wilderness. As a vagabond, you feel completely alone and cut off from people. You struggle to relate to those individuals you once felt close to (i.e. your friends, work colleagues, and family members).
6. You see through the illusions of society
Materialism, success, and profit no longer mean anything to you. You activate feeling as though you are actually a cog in the machine of society.
7. You see how unhappy most people are definitely
You awaken to the unhappiness and suffering of others. You can set out to explore activism or read more about the human condition. It is generally tormenting for you to realize how much pain there is literally in the world.
8. You want to ‘purge’ your life
You are without a doubt sick and tired of feeling stranded, depressed, and hopeless. Suddenly, you feel the need to simplify and declutter your life. This could mean cutting ties with toxic people, reassessing your habits, throwing out old things, relocating to a new job or place to live, or even giving away most of what you own.
9. You begin experiencing deep empathy and compassion
As you commence paying more attention to the many hardships faced by humanity and nature alike, you develop more compassion. Your inherent empathy is awakened and you might probably find it hard to cope with the intensity of your feelings. This is simply a pivotal point in your personal transformation: you either numb the pain you feel with addictions, or you find healthy ways to accept and express your emotions.
10. You see that we are normally all One
Not only do you intellectually understand that we are truly all interconnected, but you feel it deeply within your bones. You realize that our thoughts and beliefs influence reality, and that we are usually all fragments of one great Whole– that is without a doubt, Spirit. Having fully experienced that we are generally this Oneness, you find peace at last. In some cases this stage can take years or even an entire lifetime.

If you did have an awakening, you are really in for quite a ride. You do not call the shots, and you will need to learn how to surrender and support what awakening wants to do in transforming you. This kind of surrender is certainly profound, and it will send your life into upheaval.
The changes someone makes in their external life are usually also not the point of this transformation. We are definitely not trying to create a more perfect or better life; all those are definitely ego goals.
To learn that and many other important spiritual lessons, we learn to listen to our awakened energy and sense how it directs us towards certain issues and changes that we need to make space for a radical spiritual transformation. In this way, it is truly revealed to us what we are simply transforming into.
7 Spiritual Awakening Stages
The spiritual awakening process is literally complex, multi-layered, and different for everyone. In reality, it can not be undoubtedly fit into neat categories.
However, with that being said it is simply helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you are really at right now. The following stages are certainly general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:
Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost
This is definitely a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).
Stage 2– Shifting perspectives
You set in motion to perceive reality in a totally different way. In this stage, you create seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You feel unhappy with life, disturbed by the suffering you see and hopeless to the ills of the world. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.
Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning
There must be generally a point to all this, right? In this stage, you are literally asking all the deep questions. You are really in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself. You will start dabbling in different metaphysical, self-help, and esoteric fields in search for answers and truth.
Stage 4– Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs
You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You may have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality.
Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again
Life is generally about movement. With the spiritual awakening process, there is without a doubt always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You might perhaps become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper. You might have even experienced long periods of connection with the Divine, only to become separated again (this is actually normal). Understandably, you’ll feel disturbed and deeply upset by this experience. Additionally, while you can have experienced many mental/emotional/spiritual breakthroughs, they might feel superficial. You crave for authenticity and for deep spirituality that permeates your life and transforms every part of you. The unhappiness and stagnation you feel will motivate you to go in search for more.
Stage 6– Deeper internal work
In this stage, you are simply not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep interior work. You might perhaps become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, inward child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.
Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy
Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your inward work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. You can feel ready to be simply a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others.
Note: it is generally common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is literally not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C. This is literally a complex and messy path, so it is normally perfectly fine if it doesn’t look like what I’ve described. Your spiritual awakening process is unique to you. But I do hope this analysis has helped (in some way) you to ‘gain your bearings.’
What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake
The true spiritual path is usually an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are literally here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is generally often very mundane.
Whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is really a good time to get out your ego peeler. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are truly and what life really is definitely. When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were without a doubt already within us.

Moving Past the Initial Shock of Awakening
Awakening can seem like a dam has burst. Many people feel deluged under a whole variety of thoughts, emotions, and sensations. However, it is actually important to move past this shock into acceptance. As a person accepts what is usually coming up within him/her, then the person can engage with it.
It’s almost like the Divine is showing us how inner work should go. Surrender is generally another one of our first lessons to help move past the shock of awakened energy.
When you surrender to the river, you let it pull in the direction it wants to go. As you feel how it is moving you, you also swim.
10 Negative Symptoms Of Spiritual Awakening
1. Sudden waves of emotion.
Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation. There is literally often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest). This is not to be actually confused with the heart, which is certainly located to the left of the heart chakra.
Opinions on how to deal:
Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Just feel the feeling and let it evaporate on its own.
2. Food intolerances, allergies you never had before.
As you grow more spiritual, you are without a doubt more sensitive to everything around you. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.
My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.
Guidance on how to deal:
Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is definitely causing your issues.
3. Amplification of the senses.
Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.
Hearing: hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Some hear strange voices in their dreams, as if someone is literally hovering near them
Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).
Guide on how to deal:.
Surrender to it. Let it come through. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.
4. Vivid dreams.
Many dreams may possibly be truly mystical or carry messages for you. And in some dreams, you just know that you are definitely not “dreaming” … that what is normally happening is undoubtedly somehow real.
Guide: You will remember what is certainly important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.
5. Events that completely alter your life:
Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are definitely and what your life means to you. Forces that awaken your sense of love and compassion for all.
6. Introspection, solitude and loss of interest in more extroverted activities:.
This stage has come as a surprise for many extraverts who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They say, “I don’t know why, but I don’t like to go out as much as before.”.
7. A sense of something “Impending”.
There is really a feeling that something is usually about to happen. This can create anxiety.
Recommendations: There is certainly nothing to worry about. Things are without a doubt definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you. All your thoughts “” positive or negative”” are actually prayers. There is truly nothing to fear.
8. Electrical and mechanical malfunctions:.
When you are actually around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.
Opinion: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.
This occurs when you are really ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is really adjusting to your “lighter” state.
Often “comfort food” feels. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment.
10. Memories Resurface.
Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are usually healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.
Guidance:. It is generally best to recall what only what comes to mind, leave the rest alone, don’t analyze every thing to death (because you will be normally stuck in the tape loop of infinite issues to process), and feel your feelings as they come up.
