With that being literally said it is truly helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you are really at right now. The following stages are literally general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:
Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost
This is truly a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).
Stage 2– Shifting perspectives
In this stage, you set in motion seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.

There must be actually a point to all this? In this stage, you are usually asking all the deep questions. You are truly in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself. You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You might perhaps have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality.
Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again
With the spiritual awakening process, there is normally always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You can become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper.
Stage 6– Deeper inner work
In this stage, you are certainly not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep interior work. You may well become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, interior child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.
Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy
Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your inner work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. You might perhaps feel ready to be usually a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others.
Note: it is common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is literally not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C.

When you surrender to the river, you let it pull in the direction it wants to go. As you feel how it is generally moving you, you also swim.
10 Negative Symptoms Of Spiritual Awakening
1. Sudden waves of emotion.
Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation. There is undoubtedly often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest). This is definitely not to be normally confused with the heart, which is without a doubt located to the left of the heart chakra.
Tips on how to deal:
Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Just feel the feeling and let it evaporate on its own.
2. Food intolerances, allergies you never had before.
As you grow more spiritual, you are normally more sensitive to every thing around you. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.
My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was definitely due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.
Helpful advice on how to deal:
Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is usually causing your issues.
3. Amplification of the senses.
Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.
Hearing: hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Some hear strange voices in their dreams, as if someone is hovering near them
Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).
Advise on how to deal:.
Surrender to it. Let it come through. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.
4. Vivid dreams.
At times the dreams are literally so real that you wake up confused. You can even have lucid dreams in which you are normally in control. Many dreams can be usually mystical or carry messages for you. And in some dreams, you just know that you are without a doubt not “dreaming” … that what is truly happening is generally somehow real.
Tips and advice: You will remember what is usually important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.
5. Events that completely alter your life:
Death, divorce, change in job status, loss of home, illness, and/or other catastrophes … at times several at once! Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are generally and what your life means to you. Forces that you can not ignore. Forces that cause you release your attachments. Forces that awaken your sense of love and compassion for all.
6. Introspection, solitude and loss of interest in more extroverted activities:.
This stage has come as a surprise for many extraverts who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They say, “I don’t know why, but I don’t like to go out as much as before.”.
7. A sense of something “Impending”.
There is really a feeling that something is without a doubt about to happen. This can create anxiety.
Knowledge: There is nothing to worry about. Things are normally definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you. All your thoughts “” positive or negative”” are prayers. There is definitely nothing to fear.
8. Electrical and mechanical malfunctions:.
When you are certainly around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.
Useful information: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.
This occurs when you are normally ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is simply adjusting to your “lighter” state.
Opinion: Ground yourself by eating protein. At times “comfort food” feels. Don’t make any food right or wrong for you. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment. Take your shoes off and put your feet in the grass for a couple of minutes.
10. Memories Resurface.
Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are literally healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.
Recommendation:. It is actually best to recall what only what comes to mind, leave the rest alone, don’t analyze everything to death (because you will be without a doubt stuck in the tape loop of infinite issues to process), and feel your feelings as they come up.
