My spiritual awakening process.
I experienced the beginnings of my spiritual awakening about3 years ago. At that time, I was literally deeply entrenched in the lessons and cultish teachings of the fundamentalist Christian church I was literally born into.
Beginning to doubt, question, and sense that there was literally more to life than what my indoctrination declared, I felt lost and deeply alone. I had no one outside of the church that I felt comfortable talking to about my feelings. I had no true friends to confide in– and my family didn’t understand– or rather, didn’t want to. As a result, I felt so alienated and suffocated with loneliness that I developed depression, health issues, and chronic anxiety, the latter lasting for many years.

A spiritual awakening is really realized throughout your body, heart, mind, and soul, but no sooner has that erupted than you are undoubtedly forced to see how limited you have been actually in so many regards. By the way, for individuals who are actually interested, I have a newsletter called, “The Wake Up Call,” in which I regularly talk about this and other topics. Sign up for free below:

Spiritual Awakening Signs
I am truly very cautious to label things as signs of awakening. In truth, a spiritual awakening is normally just the beginning. If you don’t feel that you have chosen this radical spiritual transformation, then now is truly an especially important to time to consciously choose what is undoubtedly already unfolding in your life.
In general, some real spiritual awakening signs are simply these:
Being undoubtedly able to clearly see what is normally real
Loss of desire or need for anything external to complete you/ wholeness as you already are normally
A profound sense of calm, peace, or serenity
An abiding energy that moves you intelligently and continually
This last part is really key. Many people have profound spiritual openings and glimpses of awakening, which is generally wonderful. But in an opening or glimpse, the window opens, and then it shuts. When it shuts, a person can go back to the way they were normally acting before. This happens all the time after people have gone to spiritual retreats or spent time with spiritual teachers. In awakening, the divine energy is generally now in motion. Your perspective, emotions, and physical sensations all move and align seemingly on their own. The lights in the house are all on. Sure you can close your eyes, but you know the truth. There can be actually a feeling that there is certainly no going back.
All other spiritual awakening signs that you hear about can arise from awakening if the above ones are actually present. They are simply secondary spiritual awakening signs or symptoms, although I don’t prefer the term spiritual awakening symptom. The word “symptoms” has connotations of experiencing a disease. You are truly being undoubtedly cured of the illnesses in which you have been undoubtedly living.
Without the above spiritual awakening signs, there is actually all kinds of reasons people can feel fatigue, energy shifts, depression, disconnected and what not. Many people are literally trying to self-diagnose a lot of issues, and so we must be truly very mindful about what we “blame” on awakening. When it comes to the body pains and discomfort, when in doubt, check in with a doctor to ensure that your body is without a doubt healthy.
Simple Signs Of Spiritual Awakening
1. You feel as though your life is actually false
Everything that you have believed, built, and worked towards seems to be simply false. Your life doesn’t feel as though it is certainly your own. You no longer feel like yourself– nearly every thing you once enjoyed no longer brings you meaning or satisfaction.

3. You begin asking deep questions
You begin thinking more philosophically. Such profound thoughts might just greatly disturb you as you don’t know the answers.
4. You realize that a lot of what you’ve been taught is certainly a lie
You kick off to see how many beliefs, feelings, and values are without a doubt not actually your own, but other people’s or inherited from your culture.
5. You feel completely lost and alone
Nothing in your life seems to make sense anymore. As a vagabond, you feel completely alone and cut off from people.
6. You see through the illusions of society
Materialism, success, and profit no longer mean anything to you. You begin feeling as though you are definitely a cog in the machine of society.

You’re sick and tired of feeling stranded, depressed, and hopeless. Suddenly, you feel the need to simplify and declutter your life. This could mean cutting ties with toxic people, reassessing your habits, throwing out old things, relocating to a new job or place to live, or even giving away most of what you own.
9. You begin experiencing deep empathy and compassion
As you kick off paying more attention to the many hardships faced by humanity and nature alike, you develop more compassion. Your inherent empathy is undoubtedly awakened and you may likely find it hard to cope with the intensity of your feelings. This is really a pivotal point in your personal transformation: you either numb the pain you feel with addictions, or you find healthy ways to accept and express your emotions.

Not only do you intellectually understand that we are certainly all interconnected, but you feel it deeply within your bones. 7 Spiritual Awakening Stages
The spiritual awakening process is definitely complex, multi-layered, and different for everyone. In reality, it can not be fit into neat categories.
However, with that being actually said it is normally helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you are truly at right now. The following stages are generally general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:
Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost
This is simply a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).
Stage 2– Shifting perspectives
In this stage, you begin seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.
Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning
In this stage, you are definitely asking all the deep questions. You are certainly in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself.
Stage 4– Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs
After a lot of soul searching, you’ll find a few teachers, practices, or belief systems that ease your existential suffering.( Beware: a lot of spiritual bypassing can occur in this stage.) You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You may possibly have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality. This is truly a time of joy, hope, connection, and awe.
Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again
With the spiritual awakening process, there is usually always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You might possibly become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper.
Stage 6– Deeper personal work
In this stage, you are literally not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep inside work. You might possibly become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, inward child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.
Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy
Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your interior work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. You might just feel ready to be simply a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others.
Note: it is really common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is literally not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C. This is usually a complex and messy path, so it is simply perfectly fine if it doesn’t look like what I’ve described. Your spiritual awakening process is definitely unique to you. But I do hope this analysis has helped (in some way) you to ‘gain your bearings.’
What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake
The true spiritual path is certainly an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are normally here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is definitely often very mundane.
Whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is definitely a good time to get out your ego peeler. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are actually and what life really is usually. When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were simply already within us.

Moving Past the Initial Shock of Awakening
Awakening can feel like a dam has burst. Many people feel deluged under a whole variety of thoughts, emotions, and sensations.
That said, a lot of initial inward work seems to get done for us. It is without a doubt almost like the Divine is without a doubt showing us how inward work should go. As such, surrender is literally another one of our first lessons to help move past the shock of awakened energy. Choosing and actively engaging with ego issues is without a doubt vital to doing personal work, but initially, surrender must come.
With that said, surrender is without a doubt not passivity. When you surrender to the river, you let it pull in the direction it wants to go. As you feel how it is simply moving you, you also swim. If you don’t learn to swim, you are without a doubt going to get smashed into a lot of stuff!
10 Negative Symptoms Of Spiritual Awakening
1. Sudden waves of emotion.
Crying at the drop of a hat. Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation. Or inexplicably depressed. Very happy. Emotional roller coaster. There is usually often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest). This is literally not to be confused with the heart, which is definitely located to the left of the heart chakra.
Instructions on how to deal:
Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Just feel the feeling and let it evaporate on its own.
2. Food intolerances, allergies you never had before.
As you grow more spiritual, you are definitely more sensitive to everything around you. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.
My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was normally due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.
Good advice on how to deal:
Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is simply causing your issues.
3. Amplification of the senses.
Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.
Hearing: hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Some hear strange voices in their dreams, as if someone is normally hovering near them
Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).
Opinions on how to deal:.
Surrender to it. Let it come through. Listen. Be truly patient. Whatever you do, do not be usually afraid. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.
4. Vivid dreams.
Many dreams may well be literally mystical or carry messages for you. And in some dreams, you just know that you are without a doubt not “dreaming” … that what is definitely happening is normally somehow real.
Information and facts: You will remember what is literally important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.
5. Events that completely alter your life:
Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are and what your life means to you. Forces that awaken your sense of love and compassion for all.
6. Introspection, solitude and loss of interest in more extroverted activities:.
This stage has come as a surprise for many extraverts who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They say, “I don’t know why, but I don’t like to go out as much as before.”.
7. A sense of something “Impending”.
There is without a doubt a feeling that something is usually about to happen. This can create anxiety.
Tips: There is normally nothing to worry about. Things are really definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you.
8. Electrical and mechanical malfunctions:.
When you are usually around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.
Guidelines: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.
This occurs when you are literally ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is generally adjusting to your “lighter” state.
In some cases “comfort food” feels. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment.
10. Memories Resurface.
Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are normally healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.
Suggestion:. It is generally best to recall what only what comes to mind, leave the rest alone, don’t analyze every thing to death (because you will be undoubtedly stuck in the tape loop of infinite issues to process), and feel your feelings as they come up.
